The Holladay Sister's were instrumental in the rockin' soul sound of the late sixties and seventies. Singing in the recording centres of Muscle Shoals, Memphis, and Nashville, they are most noted for their vocals on Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds" and "In The Ghetto" recorded at American Sound Studio in Memphis. They also sang on most of Elvis's recordings until his his death, such as those recorded at Stax in Memphis and at RCA in Nashville.   “The Wonder of You” and “Burning Love” were two of the last hits the Holladay Sisters recorded with Elvis.


Their sound also contributed to many hits of this era in music by singing the back-up for The Box Top's 'Cry Like a Baby', Neil Diamonds 'Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show', B J Thomas's 'Hooked on a Feeling', Joan Baez's 'The Night They Drove Ole Dixie Down',  Jerry Reed's 'When You're Hot, You're Hot', Ray Steven's 'The Streak',  Billy Swan's 'I Can Help', Dave Login's 'Please Come to Boston', Willie Nelson's 'You Were Always on My Mind' and Jimmy Buffet's 'Cheeseburger in Paradise'.  


In addition they sang on recordings with Boz Scaggs, Clarence Carter, Delbert McClinton, Dionne Warwick, Ella Washington, Etta James, Odetta, Arthur Alexander, James & Bobby Purify, Percy Sledge, Roosevelt Greer, Cher, Linda Ronstadt, Emmy Lou Harris, Dolly Parton, Merrilee Rush,  Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Roy Hamilton,  Brenda Lee, Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gale, Reba McIntyre, Barbara Mandrell, Donna Fargo, Janie Fricke, Waylon Jennings, Roger Miller, Charlie Rich, John Conlee, Conway Twitty, Ronnie Milsap, Mac Davis, Donovan, England Dan & John Ford Coley, Dr. Hook, Joe Ely, David Allen Coe, Guy Clark, John Haitt, John Prine, Mickey Newbury, Dickey Lee,  Earl Scruggs, Eddie Mitchell, Hank Snow, Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins and Vassar Clements. 


Their careers also included singing on commercials for Coca Cola, United Airlines & Nestles Crunch, Kellogg's, 7 UP, Mountain Dew, Schlitz,  Sears, Kraft Foods, Burger King and Clairol.

I GREW A BEARD FOR A SKETCH WE WORKED ON FOR ELVIS WEEK. OF COURSE THE SKETCH WAS ALL ABOUT THE ELVIS MOVIE CHARRO. 

I COULDNT WAIT TO SHAVE IT OFF.  NEVER AGAIN LOL. 

CHRIS BOWDIDGE AND I CONDUCTED AN INTERVIEW WITH THE GIRLS AND I EVEN SANG A DUET WITH GINGER LIKE SHE DID WITH ELVIS

 ON 'THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW YOUR FACE' AND AFTERWARDS BACK STAGE WITH CHRIS AND ELVIS MEMORIES DJ JOHN KAVANAGH.

THE FIREBIRDS AND I MANAGED TO GET A LITTLE REHEARSAL IN WITH THE GIRLS ON THE AFTERNOON OF THE SHOW.

EVENING OF THE SHOW AND TIME FOR A SOUNDCHECK 4 HOURS BEFORE.
